Vocas at IBC 2017

BC 2017 is almost here! We are very pleased to introduce the newest Vocas products, which are all developed and produced in Holland.

This year Vocas shows many innovations, such as several new accessories specifically developed for the Canon EOS C200, the Panasonic AU-EVA1, the new follow focus system MFC-3, the new top handgrip Pro, a modular system with many possibilities, and a new base plate suitable for compact and medium cameras. The new Pro rail support and accessories

Pro rail support 15 mm type P

The Pro rail support 15 mm type P (0350-0900) is a compact new Vocas support which provides compact and medium cameras with front and even rear bars at the same time! For VCT-14 quick release plate use the V-lock adapter plate (0350-2041) can be mounted to the support (optional).

The height of the Pro rail support can be adjusted so it will be suitable for cameras such as Sony PXW-FS5, Panasonic AU-EVA1 and Canon EOS C200.

Shoulder support

In addition to the Pro rail support Vocas developed a new shoulder support! The new shoulder support (0370-0010) can be added to the Pro rail support type P using the 15 mm rails. By changing the length of the 15 mm rails, this shoulder support can be placed as far backwards as desired to find the perfect balance point.

New counter weight 15 mm

The clamping block of the shoulder support can also be mounted upside down so the rails can go across the top of the shoulder support. This allows you to add additional accessories such as a counter weight behind the shoulder support to get an even more balanced setup. For exactly this purpose Vocas developed a new 15 mm counter weight of 1 kg (0370-0220).

New accessories for the Panasonic AU-EVA1 camera

Panasonic is introducing the new camera AU-EVA1, and Vocas already has new accessories for the new camera. Of course all our universal products are compatible with this camera, but we also developed new accessories specifically designed for the AU-EVA1, a new H-cheese plate and a handgrip rosette adapter.

H-cheese plate

This new H-cheese plate (0350-1335) is specifically designed for the Panasonic AU-EVA1 and can be used in combination with the original handgrip of the camera. It provides the user with many accessory attachment points on the top of the camera.

Handgrip rosette adapter

Vocas also developed a handgrip rosette adapter (0390-0180) for the Panasonic AU-EVA1. This adapter makes the original Panasonic handgrip compatible with all standard rosette accessories.

New accessories for the Canon EOS C200

Viewfinder bracket

The original Canon viewfinder bracket is not adjustable in forward and backward direction, which is required when using the camera on your shoulder. Vocas will provide a complete C200 viewfinder solution based on NATO rail which will replace the original Canon viewfinder bracket. The 15 mm viewfinder adapter (0350-1456), which fits the original C200 top handle directly, provides a 15 mm horizontal rod to mount any NATO accessory. The Vocas viewfinder bracket (0700-0080) which provides a rigid and stable mounting solution for the C200 LCD and prevents the LCD from twisting. Twisting of the LCD can result in a crooked horizon of the image. An adjustable friction mechanism is integrated to tilt the LCD up and down.

Top cheese plate

The new Vocas top cheese plate (0350-1320) for the Canon EOS C200 has integrated holes for 15 mm rails. On this cheese plate, both the original Canon EOS C200 handgrip and the Vocas top handgrip low (0350-1405) can be mounted. Vocas also created a top handgrip kit for the Canon EOS C200 (0350-1120) consisting of the top cheese plate, top handgrip low and 15 mm viewfinder adapter.

Dovetail adapter plate for USBP MKII

This dovetail adapter plate (0350-2260) replaces the original adapter plate of the USBP MKII and is specifically designed to support the Canon EOS C200 camera. The benefits of this adapter plate are a form fitted design for optimal support of the camera, 4 attachment points instead of 2 and additional 1/4” holes for accessories such as the Vocas cage.

Vocas Sliding System for C200

The C200 camera adapter plate (0350-2260) with four attachment points gives the camera more stability and it provides the C200 compatibility with the USBP-15 MKII (0350-2200) and all the other products of the Vocas Sliding System. To make things easier we have created a special version of the USBP-15 MKII that includes this new camera adapter plate. This USBP-15 MKII for the C200 has item code: 0350-2202.

Cage for Canon EOS C200

Even though the base of the C200 camera has 4 attachment points for a rail support, it is still not a very stable connection due to the design of the camera. This is especially true when using a large lens with many accessories. To remove all play and movement between the base of the camera and the rail support, Vocas has developed a light weight camera cage (0600-0050) which is connected to the Vocas top cheese plate (0350-1320) and the Vocas camera adapter plate (0350-2260) on both sides of the camera. On the operators side, a standard rosette is integrated in the cage.

New follow focus MFC-3

Especially for the smaller cameras Vocas developed the new follow focus MFC-3 (0500-0030). The unique feature of the new follow focus system MFC-3 is that the focus knob and drive gear consist of only one part, there is no transmission in the new MFC-3. This is a direct drive, and because of the elimination of internal gears, there can never be any difference in the motion going in and going out, making it 100% playless, Vocas can guarantee you that! Today we have the availability of two models, the MFC-3 and the MFC-3F. The MFC-3F (0500-0035) has one additional feature over the standard version, namely it has an adjustable friction build in. Rotating the red dial on the focus knob allows you to fine tune the internal friction of the MFC-3F to your own preference.

Top handgrip Pro

The top handgrip Pro is designed for people who like to have a closed handle so that a sense of extra security and safety is achieved, especially when using a heavy set-up. In addition to the added security and safety, the handle has many mounting options for ¼" and cold-shoe accessories. The core of the system is the closed handle itself. There is a choice when mounting on smaller cameras, such as the Canon EOS C300 (0450-1405), or when mounting on big cameras, such as the Canon EOS C700 (0450-1400). For both applications, various mounting brackets are available.

Alternatively, a choice can be made between a single or multiple handle fixing points. When using a single mounting bracket, the carrying weight reaches 40 kg. With multiple mounting brackets, this increases to 75 kg! When using a single mounting bracket, a clamping block (0350-2010) can also be mounted so that 15 mm top bars can be used. The clamping blocks are available in 15 and 19 mm. If two mounting brackets are used then two clamping blocks can also be mounted to provide more stability and carrying capacity.

New in this case is the 19 mm dividable clamping block (0450-2010). The 19 mm dividable clamping block designed for the top handgrip Pro can be split into two single 19 mm rod holders. In this way, a single 19 mm rod can be mounted on two mounting brackets (front and rear), whereupon lens motors can be attached.
