Vocas IBC 2019 newsletter

The second week of September the Vocas crew members can traditionally be found at the IBC show in Amsterdam, close to our head office which is located in Hilversum. All the Vocas acces¬sories are developed, made and sold in Hilversum; “Made in Holland”.

Vocas has prepared some interesting introductions at this year’s show. Working in the professional camera market and following the market very closely, we at Vocas develop accessories for the latest cameras and film & video trends. During development we try never to lose sight of improving the life of the cameraman at work!

You can find the latest products at our booth, such as specific accessories for the new Black¬magic Pocket 6K, Canon EOS C500 MKII, Arri Mini LF and more. In addition, we showcase the new Vocas power solutions, a 5-axis diopter holder, the USBP MKII soft shoulder pad and LPL adapters! And as to be expected, all our new products are on stock and ready to ship.

Canon EOS C500 MKII.

Our main products, like follow-focusses and matte boxe accessories, of course do fit this camera.

However due to its unique form-factor some camera specific accessories are also required. Based upon the success of our previous Canon specific products we have updated the following accessories to make sure you achieve the best ergonomic setup for this new camera. Viewfinder bracket for Canon EOS C500 MKII Viewfinder bracket based on the NATO rail system allowing length adjustment. Replacing the original Canon viewfinder bracket with this NATO based viewfinder ensures you your horizon stays level. A must to operate the camera well. Top handgrip kit for Canon EOS C500 MKII Top handgrip kit with adjustable and reversible handgrip position, wooden inlay for extra comfort, multiple cold-shoe attachments, 15 mm top rails cheese plate and a detachable 15 mm viewfinder bracket. 15 mm Microphone holder for Canon C500 MKI This item provides a 15 mm attachment for the original microphone holder. The microphone can now be relocated by mounting the microphone to any horizontal or vertical 15 mm rail. USBP-15 MKII for Canon EOS C500 MKII This shoulder base plate converts the Canon EOS C500 MKII into a shoulder mounted camera. This version comes with the Canon EOS C500 MKII dovetail adapter plate, making it a perfect fit for this Canon camera. New 5-axis Diopter holder options

At CineGear we introduced the Vocas 5-axis Diopter holder. Due to popular demand we now introduce 2 additions the the list of available accesoires.

4,5” Adapter for diopter holder This adapter allows the use of 4.5” round diopters to be used with the Vocas 5-axis Diopter holder. Simply remove the standard 138 mm Diopter and place this 4.5” adapter in the front of the Diopter holder. Dual 138 mm adapter for diopter holder This adapter allows the use of two 138 mm round filters or a single diopter in combination with a 138 mm filter to be used with the Vocas 5-axis Diopter holder. Power sollutions

For a long period of time we have been making battery adapter plates that allow you to attach a battery plate on your 15mm rails. We now introduce an important addition to this battery adapter plate, the tiltable adapter plate. This plate allows you to adjust the angle of plate vs the 15mm rails. This helps you to improve the balance of your camera setup even further.

Also new are V-lock battery plates. These plates, which have connectors for the most popular cameras, can be attached to the aformentioned adapter plates and pro¬vide a complete system for mounting the battery and subsequently powering your camera.

Tilting battery adapter plate for 15 mm rails The tilting battery plate has a quick release to tilt the plate up to 180 de¬grees, providing quick access to the back of the camera or to find perfect counter balance. To the tilting battery adapter plate, third party V-mount and Gold-mount battery plates can be mounted. Seperate V-lock mount plates SONY/Panasonic version and Canon version. These V-lock mount plates include cables for powering cameras through V-lock batteries. The V-lock mount plate has a 10A fuse and 1x unregulated D-Tap. The lenght of the power cable is 30 cm. 2 Variations are available, a version for Canon and a version for Sony and Panasonic cameras.15 mm rail V-lock mount plates 0370-0151 & 0370-0161 15 mm Battery adapter plate SONY/Panasonic version and Canon version including V-lock mount and cable for powering cameras through V-lock batteries. This kit combines a V-lock mount plate with the Vocas battery adapter plate for 15 mm rails. 15 mm Tilting battery adapter plate SONY/Panasonic version and Canon version including V-lock mount and cable for powering cameras through V-lock batteries. This kit combines a V-lock mount plate with the Vocas tilting battery adapter plate for 15 mm rails.

Arri Alexa Mini LF camera update

ARRI recently started shipping the, at NAB 2019, introduced MINI LF camera.

Although some form-factor changes have taken place vs the existing Arri Alexa MINI, we can confirm our existing accessories are compatible with this camera. Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 6K camera update

Recently Blackmagic Design introduced their Pocket Cinema 6K camera. The camera has a slightly different form-factor from the Pocket Cinema 4K model and comes with an EF as opposed to an MFT mount.

We have tested our BMD Pocket Cinema 4K Cage and can confirm it fits well on the Cinema Pocket 6K. So, all the benefits (lightweight, HDMI protection, compact etc.) of our Cinema Pocket 4K cage also apply to the Cinema Pocket 6K! Soft shoulder pad

To improve the ergonomics of our shoulder baseplates even further we now have a soft shoulder pad.

The soft shoulder pad acts as a replacement for the standard shoulder pad, is made from memory foam and offers a lot of comfort and stability, even when shooting with heavy set-ups. You can find the soft shoulder pad here.
